I hate to be in front of a camera lens and generally shy away from people. Ironically, I find strangers fascinating and irresistible to photograph.
I approach shooting the street much like I do underwater photography, open for things that surprise or draw me in. I look for situations that tell stories; sometimes theirs, sometimes mine, and sometimes completely open to interpretation. What is truth, after all? Capturing the moment is a compulsion. Missing a compelling shot fills me with a sense of loss and regret. Each moment is unique and will never happen again. – Steve
