After all, my flatbed scanner is just another camera. Actually, an excellent camera with a shallow depth of field. Since I started using this method of capture, I see the world a little differently. Detritus that I would otherwise ignore is now more interesting. Pausing my bike at a red light is no longer boring. Potential subjects are everywhere.
I also use the flatbed to scan in wanky images that come out of my old Polaroid SX-70 camera (film from The Impossible Film Project)
